Gentle Words was created in response to a need our founder, Jasmine Savoy, LCSW-C, witnessed firsthand. While working as a high school therapist, she supported students who made tremendous progress when therapy was accessible, consistent, and integrated into their school environment. However, once many of these students graduated, they stopped attending therapy. They did not stop therapy because they no longer needed support, but because access to care suddenly changed or disappeared.
Gentle Words was founded to help close that gap while also providing accessible mental health support to children, adolescents, and young adults at every stage of development. The practice serves clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, self-esteem, relationships, school-related stress, family changes, and major life transitions.
Gentle Words is grounded in the belief that mental health care should not end at graduation or be dependent on privilege. By accepting Medicaid, the practice helps increase access to ongoing, culturally responsive treatment for individuals and families who might otherwise be left without support.
